Track four on the Bandcamp $WAMI$ (LP), the 2018 LP recorded in a bathrobe between Finding $D and Dragon Ball $d. Friends sits after Phone Plan and the Bandcamp-only Vegeta Is Bulma's Bad Boi (Spotify skips Vegeta), before Romantic Capitalism and the Babidi features.
The title is plain on purpose. On an album full of meme titles and anime theology, this is one of the short sincere pop gestures, friendship as something worth naming without irony. Four years later All My Friends Live on the Internet would say it outright (would you be mad if I said I never really wanna meet ya in-person). Friends is the earlier, softer version: you do not need the group-chat manifesto yet, just the feeling that someone on the other side of the screen counts.
Luke Francis Walton wrote, played, tracked, and mixed. Distro metadata lists the $WAMI$ era under Accidental Muse; the Bandcamp LP dropped May 9, 2018 as a free digital album.
