Lyrics

I'm thinking about
Deleting all of my my
Social media
But then
I'm never gonna
Get get get
Get invited to another party

I'm dreaming about life
Long before the internet
Too bad I'm too young
To remember it
Y2K all-day
Party
Like it be 1999

Good vibes only
Momma shoulda told me
How to keep smiling
In this reality

Good vibes only
No negativity
Can't keep up with
My anxiety

High society
Society
Ee
We're living in a
High society
Society
Ee

Make me happy
Do do do do do
Momma make me happy
Do do do do do
Give anything for me to be

A freedom to pursue
Doesn't mean I'll ever catch it
I'm paralyzed by
Every option I can choose
Another thing I wanna do

Is a desire all that bad
Pleasure, power, fame, and profit
I'm a catfish
See it to
Believe it
Shallow in the deep end

Good vibes only
Momma shoulda told me
How to keep smiling
In this reality

Good vibes only
No negativity
Can't keep up with
My anxiety

High society
Society
Ee
We're living in a
High society
Society

Make me happy

Do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do

Good vibes only

How to keep smiling
In this reality

Track twelve on KŌAN, KŌAN B era on the full LP (between More to Lose and instrumental Intro). Luke solo, same Riley Knapp master chain as the rest of the record. Satirical wellness pop with a party-invite panic underneath.

The opener names the trap and stutters on the anxious words: deleting all of my my social media, but then I'm never gonna get get get invited to another party. From there it longs for a decade it's too young to remember (party like it be 1999) and runs the good vibes only chorus as the culture's failed command, wellness language losing to the nervous system it forbids: no negativity, can't keep up with my anxiety. The high society hook chants class satire and the Instagram high life as one syllable, and verse two is option paralysis sliding into a confession, I'm a catfish, shallow in the deep end: the curated self as fraud, depth as performance.

The outro stacks I'm thinking about and momma make me happy until the delete-social-media verse comes back whole, the invite fear returning intact. Same KŌAN thread as All My Friends Live on the Internet and the LP-only disinformation pair (Miss Disinformation, to everyone who had a good pandemic). Lighter cousin of Don't Worry on Big Hug: same good vibes poison, more pop bounce.

Spotify editorial: @beformer confirmed Indie Brandneu (April 9, 2022); the same post thanks egoFM for on-air that week with host Max Klement — same April 2022 Munich radio thread as the Apr 6 interview promo. See Catalog: official playlists.
