Lyrics

Hey Momma
Hold me
Hey I need your touch
Hey my brother
Lift me
Hey oh Jesus, stop

Anxiety
Oh
Dominate my mind-soul
My oldest love, OG
Anxiety
Give pity to your old friend
I need to make a decision

You're damned
If you do
Damned if you don't
Damn damned if you don't
You're damned
If you did
You're damned if you do if you did if you did

You're damned
If you do
Damned if you don't
Damned if you do
Damn damned if you don't
(Damn)

People start a riot
And they go spill they blood
(Da da da)

Anxiety
Oh
Dominate my mind-soul
My oldest love, OG
Anxiety
Give pity to your old friend
I need to make a decision

Damned
If you do
Damned damned if you don't
You're damned if you did
Damned if you do if you did if you did

You're damned
If you do
Damned if you don't
Damned if you do
Damn damned if you don't
(Damn)
Damned if you don't
Damned if you do

Ah

Damned if you
You're damned damned if you don't
You're damned if you did
Damned if you do if you did if you did

You're damned
If you do
Damned if you don't
Damned if you do
Damn damned if you don't
(Damn)
Damned if you do
Damned if you don't
Damn damned if you don't

Afraid of missing out
Afraid of missing out

Content

Track five on Finding $D, Luke solo; every song on the LP was written, recorded, mixed, and mastered in a single day. It sits between My Meddling Kids (Hallelujah Sexy) and Economic Kama Sutra, and it treats anxiety as religion.

The intro calls for help in three directions, mother, brother, and a hey oh Jesus, stop where stop is both prayer and plea. Then the pre-chorus names the real deity: anxiety, addressed as my oldest love, OG, the longest relationship in the room.

From there the chorus takes the idiom and runs it until it breaks (damned if you do if you did if you did), with no exit branch left. A brief riot offers collective violence as a release valve before the loop closes back over it. The ending says afraid of missing out twice: FOMO as the decision the song never manages to make. Same dread register as My Friend, Scoobert and, later, Take a Breath (body panic on Little Hug), except the OG here is anxiety, not COVID.
