Lyrics

I'm chasing a sunset
Maybe I could catch it
But what if it gets cloudy at the end of the day?
I smile, zone out for awhile
But my bubble gets burst as I'm drifting away
Ain't no money for dreamers

I'm disappointed in ya
Disappointed in me
Letting everybody down
I'm living like a robot
Giving everything that I've got
Only to be gobbled up by

Big data
Big data
Feeding on the output of my soul
Nothing but big data
Big data
Don't take another bite
Swallow me whole

Yeah chew on this
You can chew on this
Hmm, chew on this
Why don't you chew on this?
Don't choke

When did the internet start to suck?
We used to paddle out together
And surf like an adventure
Used to be our escape
Now we need to escape
From the monster we made
Yeah it's eating us alive from the inside

I'm disappointed in ya
Disappointed in me
Letting everybody down
I'm living like a robot
Giving everything that I've got
Only to be gobbled up by

Big data
Big data
Feeding on the output of my soul
Nothing but big data
Big data
Don't take another bite
Swallow me whole

Yeah chew on this
You can chew on this
Hmm, chew on this
Chew on this
This
Don't choke

Content

Standalone single only (July 26, 2024 · Beformer), not on I, US, or any LP tracklist. Also appears on the indiemono GOLDEN BAY compilation; this page is the single object.

It opens in the same sunset language as chasing the sunset, then the mood curdles: what if it gets cloudy, ain't no money for dreamers. Hope as something you chase until the weather wins. The chorus sharpens internet dread into body horror, big data feeding on the output of your soul: don't take another bite / swallow me whole.

Verse two asks when the internet started to suck. We used to paddle out and surf like an adventure; now you need to escape the monster we made. The title hook is both taunt and warning: chew on this, don't choke.
