  Doop doop
  Scooby dooby
  Doop doop
  Scooby dooby
  Doop doop
  Scooby dooby
  Doop doop

  When I hold you
  With my toes
I know you wanna walk outside

  And when I kiss you
  Look through the window
And watch the hoards on fury road

  Oh
  When it's over
I'll take you do the zoo
  Do what you wanna do

  Karma tells me
I'm not going to live to see you
  So

  Oh
  When it's over
I'll take you to the park
  Drink a 40 after dark

Hopefully my liver's gonna live to see you

  And when we're older
If I live to see you
We'll laugh inside our iron lung
  And Elon Musk
  Our new world leader
  Our Ford and savior
A real Bond villain who finally won

  Thanks be to the Ford
  Ford have mercy

  Oh
  When it's over
I'll take you do the zoo
  Do what you wanna do

  Oh
  When it's over
I'll take you do the zoo
  Do what you wanna do

  Karma tells me
I'm not going to live to see you
  So

  Oh
  When it's over
I'll take you to the park
  Drink a 40 after dark

Hopefully my liver's going to live to see you

Track four on [*Masks and Monsters*](/albums/masks-and-monsters/): Luke solo, North Park lockdown, August 2020. Not the December 2020 single [*2020 Is Over*](/songs/2020-is-over/), and not the later Sugar Ray cover *when it's over* (2025). This is the LP's deferred-date love song, everything good scheduled for after the plague. It opens on a few bars of nonsense-syllable cartoon filler, the same mask as track one in a lighter register.

The romance is housebound (*when I hold you with my toes*), with *Mad Max* outside the glass and the neighbors as apocalypse traffic on fury road. The chorus treats the smallest possible normalcy as sacred: the zoo, the park, a 40 after dark (*I'll take you do the zoo*, the DistroKid spelling preserved). What makes it more than cute is the mortality running underneath. *Karma tells me I'm not going to live to see you*, then the itinerary continues anyway, *hopefully my liver's gonna live to see you*: organ humor doing the work of sincerity.

Verse two jumps decades into long-hauler sci-fi (*we'll laugh inside our iron lung*) and lands the joke that ages worst and best, Elon Musk as *our new world leader, our Ford and savior, a real Bond villain who finally won*. The closing *thanks be to the Ford, Ford have mercy* rewrites the Lord's Prayer for the car brand and the escape pod both.

Same end-is-near mood and pressure-valve jokes as [*It Can Get Worse*](/songs/it-can-get-worse/), [*Creature Comfort*](/songs/creature-comfort/), and [*Pandemic Blues*](/songs/pandemic-blues/). Pairs with [*Snuggle With Shaggy*](/songs/snuggle-with-shaggy/) as the outside-world-deferred counterpart to happy-inside-the-trap.
