  Ooo web browsing history
  My little internet diary
  Immortalized anxiety
  Alexa, what's wrong with me
I smile on write a happy song
  Never letting on
  How much I worry
I'm writing stories in my head
Inventing awful things that you never said
Mad at what you did in my dream
  Always in my head
Imagine awful things that you never did

It's the end of the world
  In my head
It's the end of the world
  In my head
So won't you get out of my head?

  Big data cannot help me
No matter how it tracks me
  No, I'm not feeling happy
No matter what the trends say
  Generative allergy
Oh, Siri can you save me
  Internal little story

I know you're out to get me
Said I know you're out to get me
Yeah I think you're out to get me
Ooo I think you're out to get me
  Ooo

I'm writing stories in my head
Inventing awful things that you never said
Mad at what you did in my dream
  Always in my head
Imagine awful things that you never did
It's the end of the world
  In my head

  No, I don't catastrophize
  That information's classified
It's designated for my eyes only
  Otherwise I probably
  Wouldn't have a single friend
Oh look the world's ending again

And every couple years, we get a new election
To break my family into pieces
  While the temperature increases
No one's happy when they're hot
But do you have to be so racist?
  Every day another crises
Of our soul and of our vices
And I'm running out of air
Cause it's the end of the world

  In my head
  In my head
  Writing stories in my head
Yeah you're always in my head
It's the end of the world
  In my head
  In my head
  In my head
Yeah it's the end of the world in my head

Track one on [*MÖB*](/albums/mob/), the LP's front door and anxiety thesis, released as a standalone single ahead of the album. [Ear to the Ground Music](https://www.eartothegroundmusic.co/2023/10/20/album-review-digging-into-the-soulful-stylings-of-scoobert-dooberts-new-mob/) read it as a song about the stories people tell themselves, which is exactly the trick: a happy song that smiles while *never letting on how much I worry*.

The whole record's logic is in the chorus: *it's the end of the world in my head*, so *won't you get out of my head?* Browsing history doubles as a diary, big data and Siri can't help, and confession plays as comedy (*I don't catastrophize, that information's classified*). The final verse widens to elections, family fracture, and heat, then lands right back inside the skull. The Möbius cycle begins here, with looped dread you can dance to.

It connects to the [*CHEW ON THIS*](/songs/chew-on-this/) lineage of internet anxiety, and sets up [*Sunlight*](/songs/sunlight/) as the album's attempted answer.

Also on [Catalog](/catalog/) as a 2023 single.
