Second single from [**Monterrey**](https://limonlimonmusic.bandcamp.com/album/monterrey), the debut LP by LA “future indie” duo **Limón Limón** (Jason + Rand) featuring **Scoobert Doobert**. The irony is the title: *Hello* is a farewell song. [B-Side Guys](https://bsideguys.com/2024/07/11/limon-limon-and-scoobert-doobert-hello-a-toast-to-new-horizons/) reads it as “a toast to new horizons”: someone you love is leaving for a new chapter, and calling it *Hello* is one way to face forward instead of back. [Melodic Mag](https://www.melodicmag.com/news/new-music/limon-limon-and-scoobert-doobert-take-you-to-space-in-hello/) noted the Latin-leaning R&B/pop production and the way the song opens up cosmically: *take you to space in hello* is the image they reached for.

Monterrey is the city in Nuevo León that gives the album its name, and the whole record has that dual-residency energy: Limón Limón rooted in LA but looking south, Scoobert Doobert reaching east. *Hello* sits toward the end of the record as the bittersweet moment before the close.
