  Ah
  Oh
  Staring out the classroom window
  Thinking bout a drive
  Down the coast
  Looking at the water
  And I know
  A permanent vacation

  Day dreaming
  Of a sunny place
  Ride a tidal wave
  Never too far away
  From the warm water
  What a sweet escape
  We can slip away
  To a sunnier day

  Pacific Ocean
  Out the window pane
First class in the coastal train
  Emotionally entertained
  Day dreaming about it
  Day dreaming

  You can meet me there
In the back of your brain
  By the waterfall
  Feel the ocean air
  Running through your hair
  The Santa Ana's calling

  San Diego sand be coating
  Every inch of every toe
  Like a souvenir
  Wish you were here
But it's closer than you know
  So, come over

  Day dreaming
  Of a sunny place
  Ride a tidal wave
  Never too far away
  From the warm water
  What a sweet escape
  We can slip away
  To a sunnier day

  Pacific Ocean
  Out the window pane
First class in the coastal train
  Emotionally entertained
  Day dreaming about it

  Pacific Ocean
  Out the window pane
First class in the coastal train
  Emotionally entertained
  Always be my reason
  For day dreaming
  Day dreaming
  I'm day dreaming
  Day dreaming

  Day dreaming
  Day dreaming
  Day dreaming
  Day dreaming

Track one on [*I*](/albums/i/), the LP's front door, released ahead of the album as a single and the first step into the second Möbius turn after [*MÖB*](/albums/mob/)'s inward loop.

The classroom window is the old escape fantasy updated for California: drive down the coast, *a permanent vacation*. Not a plan yet, a daydream with infrastructure. What keeps it from being a postcard is that it's shared. *Wish you were here* names the distance, *but it's closer than you know* collapses it, and the album that follows is mostly how that invitation gets lived.

Also released as a standalone single ahead of the LP. See: [Catalog](/catalog/).
