The chorus is joy and ache at once, dancing all night long since I met ya but wanting to *pull ya through the phone*, with Kool and the Gang standing in as surrogate dance partner.

The plea underneath the party is the whole song: *don't leave me dancing alone*, stacked at the outro until loneliness and motion become the same thing.
