DEBUT, first album by OKAME, the post-CHAI project of twin frontwomen MANA and KANA. Jacket illustration by chao! (KANA's husband, illustrator), same visual world as the 夜はきらい animation MV and documentary OK A ME REVOLUTION THROUGH MUSIC (Chao). The MANAKANA official site is explicit: CHAI disbanded March 12, 2024 at EX THEATER ROPPONGI in Tokyo; OKAME began September 2025 under Revolution through Music: intentionally not “CHAI part two,” but a new context for the expressiveness and pop sense they built in the old band.

February 4, 2026 digital release (Rooftop, Skream!, Natalie, NiEW). Eight songs from a three-month single run (おかしなきもち照れないでGAME OVER) into これが今の私たちの正解: NiEW calls DEBUT a new chapter capturing their current musical identity, not a NEO KAWAII continuation.

The sound axis is ノスタルポップ (Nostalpop): inward, identity-forward pop after burnout and the end of a globally recognized band (MARZEL, NiEW launch). Scoobert Doobert is listed as Mixing Engineer on every track in the Apple Music DEBUT credits pane, and on the monthly singles that became it. The credit is also printed on the physical pressing: the KODO RECORDS vinyl LP (cat. KODO-LP-001, STEREO, ¥4,400 tax-in) back cover reads “Mix engineer: Scoobert Doobert,” alongside art work by chao!, photography by Kaori Arai, hair & make by Yukino, and supported by A SCENE. Also with MANA and KANA: KOMAGOME (first post-CHAI production work) and WE CAN'T DOLL / CHAHHAN composition credits.

Placement highlights on the LP: たまや is the lead track (Jan 21, 2026 pre-release) with an A SCENE gadget-brand MV (NiEW). 夜はきらい is the theme for FAT CLUB’s short film 餃子店で朝食を, screened alongside the documentary OK A ME REVOLUTION THROUGH MUSIC at Shibuya Eurospace (Feb 11, 2026), official animation MV directed by chao! (Skream!). Album cut GAME OVER closes the eight-track sequence; it was the December single, the last of the monthly rollout.

Documentary: OK A ME REVOLUTION THROUGH MUSIC: directed by chao! (KANA’s husband, illustrator), one-day theatrical run Feb 11, 2026. Rooftop and Natalie on illness, fatigue, and choosing the mic again after dissolution.
